Henry Charles Mollett, age 86, passed away peacefully on December 5th, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born March 29th, 1938 to the late David and Mary (Sutton) Mollett in Kansas City, KS.
Henry and Sandy moved to Council Bluffs in 1959 where Henry was employed by Griffin Pipe. He transferred to be the plant foreman at the ripe old age of 21.
During his 66 years in Council Bluffs, Henry had many accomplishments.
He was a member of the Elks Lodge, the Masonic Lodge and the Shriners for more than 50 years.
He joined the Cosmopolitans several years ago and supported their mission.
Henry was the longest living member of the Council Bluffs Country Club. He had been an avid golfer since he was a young child and he had 20+ hole in ones during his lifetime.
He served one term in the Iowa House of Representatives.
Henry was an entrepreneur for most of his adult life. He was called upon to consult and mentor many friends when their companies were just starting up or were facing some challenges.
He was a proud friend of Bill W's for 46 years.
Henry's greatest joys were his family and friends, golfing and horse racing.
Henry is survived by his wife of 65 years, Sandy Brown Mollett; children, Dennis (Diana) Brown, Charlene (Scott) Pickering, Debbie (Todd) Killion. Grandchildren, Nathan Pickering, Randi (Aaron) Williams, Aimee (Chris) Ranne, and Zack (Jori) Killion. Great Grandchildren, Stevie, Kalynn, Garrett, Levi and Freya. In-laws, Shirley Reynolds, Ginger Gulley, Sharon Brown, and Johnny (Susan ) Brown, many nieces and nephews, cousins, and a host of other family and friends.
A celebration of Henry's life will be held at the Council Bluffs Country Club on December 14th, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. with brunch to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family will direct donations to causes that were dear to Henry.
