Jack J. Harter

Jack J. Harter, age 84, of Council Bluffs passed away May 15, 2018.

He was born in Council Bluffs on December 27, 1933 to the late Robert and Mary (Montgomery) Harter. Jack was in business for 32 years at Harter’s Service and Repair.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Rodney Harter; brothers, Bob Harter and Chuck Harter; sisters, Jane Damgaard and Barb Knudsen.

Jack is survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen Harter; son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Roseanne Harter; daughter-in-law, Julie Harter; grandchildren, Shannon Vargas (Allen), Courtney Harter, Kevin Harter (Samantha), Kyle Harter (Mandy); 6 great grandchildren.

Family and friends will gather at Hoy-Kilnoski on Friday at 1:00p.m. for a precession to a graveside service in the Cedar Lawn Cemetery. A luncheon and visitation will follow in the community room at Hoy-Kilnoski. The family will direct memorials.
