Jacqueline Eliz Wintour, beloved daughter of Elizabeth and Robert H. OBrien, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2014 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Her family, including her four sisters, was with her. Born on October 1, 1949, Jackie was a graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School and received degrees from Cottey College, Montana State University and the University of Nebraska in Fine Arts and Elementary education. Jackie creatively pursued her artistic passions in all aspects of art, ceramics, photography, interior design, jewelry design, and painting. An original and independent thinker, her unique perspective on life, combined with her wit, encouragement, and nurturing support, gave those who knew her confidence to pursue their life dreamsso long as they had proper handwriting! Her sense of humor, the upturn at the corners of her mouth as she gave each of us a warm and knowing smile, and her heart of gold will be missed. Jackie is preceded in death by her father, Robert H. OBrien, and her mother, Elizabeth Holmgard OBrien. She is survived by her aunts Diane OBrien (Richard B.) of San Diego, CA, Colette Holmgard (Clem) of Nice, France, and Kathryn OBrien of Fayetteville, AR; sisters, Nancy OBrien Dorr (James P.), of Evanston, IL, Judy OBrien and Barbara OBrien Murphy, of Council Bluffs, IA, and Kate OBrien Bruce (Dr. Stephen J.) of Ogden, Utah; 7 nieces and one nephew, 8 grand nieces and grand nephews, and many Holmgard and OBrien cousins. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday September 5, 2014, 2PM at St. Patricks Catholic Church followed by inurnment in the Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society will be appreciated.
