Evans, James Floyd

June 1, 1945 - October 2, 2023

James was born in Missouri Valley, IA. He moved to Omaha, NE where he met and married Barbara Clark. James served in the Army and the Air Force from 1962 to 1967. They moved to San Francisco for a time while James was in the service. One of their children was born there and they returned to Omaha where he lived the remaining years of his life. James and Barb had five children together before parting ways. James was the grandfather to 2 grandsons, 5 granddaughters and was a great grandfather to 8 great grandchildren. James never remarried but spent many of his remaining years with his friend and partner Shirley Roehr who passed away only 2 short months before him. As a family, we all know where we inherited our love for sarcasm from. James also enjoyed reading the comics in his magazines and loved nothing more than to catch new friends and acquaintances off guard with his witty humor, keeping them guessing as to whether he was serious or not.

James was a crane operator for many years and was fiercely proud to be a member of the iron workers union. James was preceded in death by parents Frank and Emma Evans, sister Shirley Awalt, brothers Frank, Gary and Robert Evans and daughter Shirley Bader. He is survived by his brother Richard Evans, son James Evans and daughters Rebecca Pauli, Rhonda Collins and Shannon Bailey.

A private celebration of life will be held with immediate family.
