James "Jim" L. Flannery, age 73, passed away from this world to his homecoming on August 20, 2023.
He was born February 16, 1950 to Lowell Ray & Ruth Lea (Myers) Flannery in Los Angeles, CA. James graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School with the Class of 1968. After high school, Jim enlisted in the Army and served in Fairbanks, Alaska as an E6 in the Motor Pool. He worked at several jobs after his discharge from the Army and then settled at Mutual of Omaha as a Claims Auditor and Compliance Liaison for State Insurance Commissioners, where he traveled all over the United States for several years.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by all of his grandparents.
James is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sherril Flannery; children, Jennifer (Jeremy) Blair and Matt (Laura) Flannery; sister, Sharon Circo and nephew, Brian Circo; grandchildren, Andrea and Samantha Flannery, Mackenzie Alsman, Curtis Blair, Krista, Isaiah and Kim Yancy; loving aunts; in-laws; many nieces; nephews; cousins; and other family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM at East Side Christian Church on Saturday, August 26, 2023.
Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 AM at East Side Christian Church on Saturday, August 26, 2023.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to East Side Christian Church.
