James Yates

James Yates, age 57, passed away at Jennie Edmundson Hospital December 3, 2021.

He was born October 27, 1964, to Frederick and Mary Ann (Lydon) Yates in Council Bluffs, IA. James graduated from Lewis Central High School with the class of 1983. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. James was an engineer for Union Pacific Railroad for 10 years and was currently working a professional driver for Schultz Enterprises.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ann Yates; grandfather, Vincent Lydon.

James is survived by his companion Shelly Robinson; father, Frederick (Judy) Yates; children, Justin (Tyler) Yates, Jeremy Yates, Dani Robinson, Jake Yates, and Miranda Yates; grandchildren, Trinity Robinson, Jaylee Yates, Dre Whitmore, Urijah Yates, Dax Whitmore, and Brixton Yates; siblings, Mikki (Mike) Goodman, Donna (Alphonzo) Perez, and Pamela Wright; grandmother, Frances Lydon; ; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family and friends; 3 step siblings.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 07, 2021.

Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Wednesday for a procession that will leave for the cemetery at 1:00 p.m. for a graveside service in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will direct memorials.
