Janet A. Goos

Janet A. Goos, age 80, of Treynor, Iowa passed away March 19, 2015 at the Hospice with Heart Hospice House in Glenwood. She was born in Council Bluffs on December 27, 1934 to the late Harvey and Thelma (Holst) Tiarks. She graduated from Treynor High School and then worked at Treynor State Bank. Janet retired after 30 years as a dental assistant. She was a member of Zion Congregational Church, the Treynor Top Twenty and the Oakland Saddle Club. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Cris Barrett and brother, Charles Tiarks. Janet is survived by her husband, Emmett Goos; children, Danny and Julie Buckelew, Eric Goos, Jane Duysen; brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Jere Tiarks; sisters and brothers-in-law, Virginia and Wendell Klahn, Kathy and Tim DeHaan, Peggy and Denny Hockett; sister-in-law, Diane Tiarks; son-in-law, Gary Barrett; grandchildren, Allison Oetter, Michael Buckelew, Ryan Buckelew, Sarah Duysen, Tommy Duysen; a host of other family and friends. Visitation is Sunday 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service and celebration of her life will be Monday 10:30 a.m. at Zion Congregational Church in Treynor. Interment is in the church cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Zion Congregational Church or Jennie Edmundson Spirit of Courage.
