Janet Fay Erickson

Janet Fay Neal Erickson, 78, lifelong resident of Council Bluffs, passed away on May 26th at her home. She was born July 20, 1937 to Duane and Edith (Radliff) Whitbeck. She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School, and was united in marriage to Walter Neal on October 5th, 1957. She was a homemaker for many years, but also worked at Ranks Department Store, Mutual of Omaha, and the Iowa Department of Transportation. She enjoyed gardening, genealogy, and her Christian faith. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Duane and Edith Whitbeck; sister, Phyllis; husbands, Walter Neal (2004) and Phillip Erickson (2015). She is survived by her children, Judith Neal, LuAnne Autera, and Scott Neal (Stacy Ring); grandchildren, Rachael Autera, and Libby, Patrick, Alex, and Matthew Neal; siblings Muriel (Floyd) Chenoweth and Duane Whitbeck; step-daughter, Mary Beth Carpenter; nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends. Funeral service is Saturday, June 4th at 3:00p.m at the Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home with Visitation hour prior to the service. Memorials are suggested to Meals on Wheels.
