Janice R. Larsen

Janice R. Larsen, age 87, of Council Bluffs passed away April 14, 2018 at Risen Son Christian Village.

She was born in Council Bluffs on March 7, 1931 to the late Hobart and Rachel (Montgomery) Reese. Janice graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School with the class of 1949. She attended college at Iowa State. Janice was a 50-year member of P.E.O. and New Horizon Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed playing bridge and was especially fond of her garden. Janice and her husband operated Larsen Supply Company for 40 years.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, George Larsen.

Janice is survived by her husband of 66 years, Donald “Whistle” Larsen; children, Don Larsen Jr. (Susie), Laura Swift (Todd) and Tom Larsen (Kim); 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and host of other family and friends.

Visitation is 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. on Wednesday at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is 10:00a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment is in Ridgewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to New Horizon Presbyterian Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.
