Janie Herrick

Janie S. Herrick, age 72, passed away peacefully at Bethany Lutheran Home on August 21, 2024.

She was born February 13, 1952, to the late Carl and Anna (Larsen) Atkinson in Council Bluffs, IA. Janie graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School with the class of 1970 and retired from University of Nebraska at Omaha. She was a member of Open Door Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, David Atkinson, Jim Atkinson, Jeff Atkinson, and sister, Julie Atkinson.

Janie is survived by her husband of 52 years, Gary Herrick; son and daughter-in-law, David and Amy Herrick; daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Karl Hake; siblings, Nancy (Richard) Nelson, Dennis (Karen) Atkinson, Doug (Julie) Atkinson, Richard (Stacey) Atkinson, and Joe (Kim) Atkinson; sister-in-law, Lezlie Atkinson; grandchildren, Tyler, Ryan, Brianna, Madeline, Kaleb, Natalie, and Abigail; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Monday, August 26, 2024.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM at Open Door Baptist Church on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will direct memorials.
