Johanna Baker

Johanna Baker, age 83, passed away peacefully of natural causes on December 8, 2024, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Johanna was born on August 7, 1941, in Dusseldorf, Germany. She immigrated to the United States and settled in Southern California. She worked at the studios and had a successful career in residential real estate. In 1973, Johanna married Richard "Dick" Baker.

Johanna and Dick had shared interests in skiing, golf, and world travel. In Southern California, Dick and Johanna were long time members of Lakeside Golf Club. Johanna was active in a number of philanthropic endeavors, including the Nine O'Clock Players Theater for Children. In retirement, Dick and Johanna first moved to South Carolina to enjoy the seven spectacular courses at the Cliffs outside of Greenville. Later, Dick and Johanna relocated to Bonita Springs in Southwest Florida. Dick passed away in March of 2024.

Johanna is preceded in death by her husband, Dick, and her parents, Kurt and Sofia Garbatscheck.

Johanna was a special person who will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
