John Paul Meduna, age 56, of Crescent, IA passed away due to heart failure on October 17, 2016. He was born in Wahoo, NE on July 14, 1960 to Milo and Elaine Meduna and grew up on a farm near Weston, NE.
He earned a Bachelor Degree at UNL. John had retired from the Omaha Police Department. His wife Carol and him also ran a Bed & Breakfast business out of their home in Iowa for many years. John was an organ donor and always wanted to help others. He also traveled many places with his wife Carol some of which include: Czechoslovakia, Paris, Alaska, Washington D.C. and several cruises. He enjoyed cooking, fishing and working on cars.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Meduna; mother, Elaine Meduna; sisters and brothers-in-law, Theresa and Mike Glanz, Rose and Steve Daharsh, Joyce and Ken DeLay, Jane and Matt Fesler all of Wahoo and Connie and Art Paquin of Carlisle, IA; along with numerous nieces and nephews/grandnephew.
John was preceded in death by his father Milo Meduna of Weston, NE.
Visitation is Sunday, October 23, 2016 from 6:00-7:00 pm with Scripture Service/Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home in Council Bluffs, IA. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 24, 2016 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Omaha with visitation an hour prior. Interment is in the Bellevue City Cemetery, Bellevue NE.
