Joseph Warren Stotts, age 60, of Council Bluffs, Iowa was born May 11, 1958 in Omaha, Nebraska. He was one of five children born to Joseph and Oralene Stotts. Joseph passed away January 23, 2019, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
The family moved to Council Bluffs in 1958, where he attended grade school through high school. He was a carpenter and construction worker by trade. He worked for Leighton Corporation, Iowa Riggers Loft, and Olson Brothers Construction.
He was a collector of many things and loved browsing through the Salvation Army, the Rehab Store, and countless yard sales to add to his collections. He was a very knowledgeable man who could do anything he put his mind to. He loved to tinker and could construct amazing yard art from pieces of scrap metal and various nuts and bolts.
Joseph’s passion for four wheelers and motorcycles gave him great pleasure. His rides to Sturgis were an annual event with his son and friends.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his loving son, Joshua Wayne Stotts; step-son, Christopher Gilmore; brother, Jerry Wayne Stotts; sisters, Mary Jane Stotts, Linda Jo (Chris) Holtberg, Jeanne (Mike) Kilbane; fiance’, Naomi Wiser; grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Memorial service is Monday, 1 p.m., at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home.
