Joyce E. Glesmann

Joyce E. Glesmann, age 97, of Council Bluffs passed away December 18, 2014 at Mercy Hospital. She was born in Council Bluffs on November 2, 1917 to the late Arthur and Izetta (Lapworth) Darrington. She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School with the class of 1935 and then attended Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa. Joyce worked for many years as the credit manager for Ed Phillips and Sons and was a member of the Community of Christ Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Glesmann and son, James Glesmann. Joyce is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Mary Glesmann; sisters, Esther Darrington and Vera Beamer; brothers and sisters-in-law, Marvin and Lois Darrington, Byron and Jan Darrington; 3 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter. Visitation is Monday 6-7PM at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is Tuesday 11AM at the funeral home followed by a luncheon in the community room at Hoy-Kilnoski. Interment will take place that afternoon in the Cedar Lawn Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Community of Christ Church.
