Judy Driver

Judy Ann Driver, age 84, passed away peacefully in her home on May 14th, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. Judy was born on December 27, 1938 and spent her entire life in the Lake Manawa area, where she met her loving husband of 65 years, Gary Driver. Gary saw teenage Judy gleefully doing flips into the lake from her dock, and he instantly fell in love. They married on June 20, 1957, and this was the beginning of Judy’s greatest joy in life: the beautiful family she and Gary created together. Judy was “bonus Grandma” to countless friends of her grandkids and loved hosting all her grandkids and bonus grandkids for breakfast on their deck, which always included french toast, sticky buns, card games, and lots of laughter.

Judy worked at First National Bank for 18 years, first as a teller and then as a teller manager, before retiring in 1986. She was an active member of Gethsemane Presbyterian Church and belonged to the Red Hat Society.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Lamond and Hazel (Carter) Larsen, and her sister, Mary Oehme.

Judy will be dearly missed by her loving family, including husband Gary; sons Bob (Bev) Driver and Randy (Julie) Driver and daughter Becky (Mike) Riehle; five grandchildren Patrick Driver, Tyler (KayAnn) Driver, Sara (Justin) Skidmore, Rachel (Ty) Valdez, and Lora (Chris) Oliver; and seven great-grandchildren, Keaton, Mary, Evelyn, Josie, Naomi, Eloise, and Thomas.

Funeral services will be held at Gethsemane Presbyterian Church, 224 Wallace Ave, Council Bluffs on Thursday, May 25th at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior to services. A luncheon will be held at the church following the service.

Memorials are suggested to Gethsemane Presbyterian Church or The Council Bluffs Humane Society.
