Karen Jean Hite Roll was born May 22, 1949 in Orange, California. She was the second of eight children: Linda, Karen, Lee, Kathy, Bob, Rick, John, Judy. Karen was married to Doug Roll on August 17, 1968 in Council Bluffs. Karen worked for the Red Cross until she had her three children: Stacy, Bridget, and Bobbi Jo. She enjoyed bowling, gambling at the area casinos, and doing yard work. Karen especially enjoyed taking care of the many plants and flowers in her yard. In fact, she planted every tree in her yard herself. After her youngest graduated, Karen started working at Land Surveying Services. She worked there for several years. Karen also worked at Town Floral flower shop, arranging and delivering flowers. She would have loved to have a flower shop of her own. After she retired, Karen helped to care for many of her family members, and also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Leo Clyde Hite, Jr., and Jeanne (Nightser) Hite; her brothers Lee, Bob, and John Hite; and her sister Kathy Hite.
She is survived by her husband, Doug; her daughters Stacy Page, Bridget Penick, and Bobbi Jo (Chris) Hancock; eight grandchildren; her siblings, Linda McNabb, Rick Hite, and Judy Hite; sister-in-law Marlene Hite; her loving dog Jack, who was by her side every day, and her best friends of over fifty years, Deanna and Kenny King, and Michele Ostrander.
