Katheryn M. "Kay" Carroll

Katheryn M. "Kay" Carroll, age 87, of Council Bluffs, Iowa passed away September 14, 2015 at the Midlands Living Center. She was born in Council Bluffs on June 25, 1928 to the late John W. & Catherine A. (Schickoufsky) Floerchinger. She worked at State Saving Bank, Council Bluffs Gas Company and Mercy Hospital. She moved to Kansas City, Missouri and worked at Plaza Bank of Commerce. After six years she returned to Council Bluffs and worked for State Bank & Trust, Hawkeye and Mercantile Banks. In 1990 she finally retired from Mercantile Bank. After her retirement she worked as a clerk on the Election Board. Kay was a former member of the Business and Professional Womens Club, a past president of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #2, a member of St. John Lutheran Church for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Cliff, Harold R., Eugene C., John, LeRoy F and Jerome W. Floerchinger. Kay is survived by her sons, John R. and D. Scott Carroll and wife Vicky; daughter, Michele K. Lambert and husband Dr. Christopher; brother, Phil Floerchinger and wife Rosalie; 2 grandsons; 3 granddaughters; 8 great granddaughters; 4 great grandsons; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many other family and friends. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Cedar Lawn Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Saint John Lutheran Church.
