Kathryn Baker

Kathryn M. "Marie" Baker, age 82, passed away peacefully at her daughter's home in Council Bluffs on September 18, 2023.

She was born January 29, 1941, to the late Carrol and Dorothy (Weseen) Branan in Villisca, IA. Marie graduated from Villisca High School with the class of 1959 and then attended nurses training in Cedar Rapids. She retired from the Montgomery County Hospital after 38 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Baker.

Kathryn is survived by her children, Debra (Leon) Ross and Carl (Brenda) Baker; siblings, Larry Branan, Marilyn Branan, and Gail Branan; grandchildren, Ashley (Zak) Harris and Alli Baker; step grandchildren, Troy Ross and Jennifer Ross; great-grandchildren, Nolan and Noah; nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Graveside service is at the Arlington Cemetery near Villisca, Iowa on Saturday September 30, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. A luncheon will follow the graveside service at the First Christian Church in Red Oak. The family will direct memorials.
