Kathryn M Wrinkle

Kathryn M. Wrinkle, age 72, passed away October 14, 2017 at CHI Mercy Hospital.

She was born in Council Bluffs on August 8, 1945 to the late Harold and Armaida Peterson.

Kathryn graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School. She was a longtime employee of the Daily Nonpareil and well known throughout the community. Kathy and her husband Don operated the Rustic Lounge in Crescent, Iowa and later the K-D Lounge in Modale, Iowa. They were both active in the Appaloosa Horse Association. Kathy would rescue any animal that was in need and would often be a foster mom to animals housed in the Pottawattamie County Animal Shelter.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Wrinkle; brothers, Peter, Emil and Paul; sister, Diane; granddaughter, Hannah.

Kathryn is survived by her daughters, Leslie Wrinkle and Kristine Wrinkle; step-daughters, Pam Wrinkle and Annette Wrinkle-Hirschman; sisters, Dagmar Neilsen and Christine Erickson; brother, Eric Peterson (Michaelene); 7 grandchildren.

A reception in her honor will be on Thursday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm in the Community Room at Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. The family will direct memorials.
