Kevin Moran

It is with heavy hearts we announce the death of Kevin Moran, age 67. Kevin passed away at home in Underwood, Iowa, on March 27, 2024.

Kevin was born on March 28, 1956, to Joe and Leona Moran. He grew up in Honey Creek, Iowa, and graduated from St. Albert High School. He graduated with his business degree from University of Nebraska Omaha and farmed in Honey Creek and Underwood, Iowa. He was an important and devoted member of Moran Beef, Inc., and worked with his dad, brothers, son, and nephews his entire life.

Welcoming him to Heaven are his stepson, John Sealock, and his father, Joe Moran, as well as a host of family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Annette Moran, son Doug Moran (Haylee Inman) of Honey Creek, Iowa; daughter Marissa Moran of Phoenix, Arizona; daughter-in-law Dusty Sena of Anchorage, Alaska; grandchildren Henlee, Sloan, and Nialls; and mother Leona Moran. He also leaves behind brothers Mike (Marly), Craig (Brenda) and Frank (Elsie); sisters Kate Frankl (Don), Jolene Janssen (Jay), Mary Wettengel (Dick) and Jenny Carlson (Dan). His numerous nieces and nephews will also feel his absence, as well as his large family of in-laws.

Kevin will be remembered as a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Kevin was a kind and gentle person. He loved the farm and enjoyed taking care of the land and cattle. He loved his family and everyone felt his love and support, whether it was at the many family gatherings or ball games to support his children, nieces, and nephews. He was never too busy to sit for a chat, give you a hard time, give jet ski and tractor rides, or husk dozens and dozens ears of corn to distribute to others to enjoy.

Kevin's kindness and caring touched so many hearts and he will be deeply missed.

Visitation is Tuesday, April 2, 2024, 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. 

A private family service will be held at a later date. Interment in the Saint Joseph Cemetery in Council Bluffs. 

In lieu of flowers, the family will direct memorials in Kevin's honor.
