Kimberly P. Hast

Kimberly P. Hast, age 58, of Council Bluffs passed away May 7, 2015. She was born in Columbus, Neb., on August 11, 1956 to the late Benjamin and Mildred Gillard. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Connie Gillard. Kimberly is survived by her husband, George Hast; sons, Chad Simmons (Kimberly), Jake Simmons (Sarah Hansen); step-sons, Matthew and Timothy Hast; sister, Nancy Gillard (Meade Snoddy); brother, Rod Gillard (Rosie); 10 grandchildren; a host of other family and friends. Kimberly had a passion and intensity for life. Her laughter was infectious when she was together with family and friends. She prided herself on speaking her mind and that sometimes got her in to trouble. Kimberly had a giving spirit and worked many years as a nurse. She had a special fondness for the elderly and had a gift for connecting with them on a deep personal level. She will be missed. Visitation is Thursday 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Memorial service is Friday 2 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will direct memorials.
