Lawrence Eickholt

Lawrence "Larry" Joseph Eickholt, age 82, passed away on October 13, 2024. He was born to Joseph and Deloris Eickholt on July 29, 1942, in Maryville, Missouri. He married Inella Kerber on January 16, 1965, in Fort Leonard Wood, MO.

Larry was a United States Army Veteran. After his service, he dedicated 31 years to Frito Lay, retiring in August 1998. In retirement, Larry found joy in driving a school bus, particularly cherishing the moments spent taking his grandchildren to and from school.

In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by his son-in-law, Scott Higgins; brother, Gary Eickholt; sister, Ann Heflin and brother-in-law Paul (Joyce) Kerber.

Larry is survived by his wife of 59 years, Inella of Council Bluffs; daughter, Lisa Higgins of Jacksonville, FL; sons, John (Maureen) Eickholt of Council Bluffs and Jeff Eickholt of Houston, TX; six grandchildren: Jessica (Bryan) Higgins, Joseph (Alissa) Eickholt, Emma (Connor) Eickholt, Jackson Eickholt, Ella Eickholt, and Ava Eickholt; and one great-grandchild, Emilia Eickholt. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Shirley Eickholt; brothers-in-law Paul (Martha) Heflin, Max (Candy) Kerber and Marvin (Darlene) Kerber; cherished friends Jim and Rachel Simmons; and many other beloved family members and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, October 17, with funeral services and luncheon to follow on Friday, October 18, at 11:00 AM. All services will take place at Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home in Council Bluffs. Family burial will take place at Hardin Township Cemetery in McClelland, IA. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be directed by the family.
