Lee Roy Wheeler

Lee Roy Wheeler, age 83, of Minden, was called home to be with the Lord, after a courageous battle with cancer, on August 5, 2015 at his residence. He was born on March 31, 1932 in Beckley, West Virginia. Lee served in the United States Army during the Korean War, earning two bronze service stars, until his honorable discharge in August 1954. He worked as a welder for 45 years at Cattlemens, Paxton & Vierling Steel Co., and Fruehauf Trailer. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Connie (Jorgensen) Wheeler, sister Dorothy Diamond, and friends. It was Lees request to be cremated with no services.
