Leonard Kline

Leonard L. Kline, age 67, passed away at Prairie Gate on March 3, 2025. 

He was born November 2, 1957, to the late Leonard and Mildred (Malone) Kline in Council Bluffs, IA. Leonard was born and raised in Council Bluffs and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School with the class of 1977. 

He lived in rural Shelby for 20 years before returning to Council Bluffs. Leonard was always a very hard and dedicated worker and welded for over 25 years, with the majority of that time at Omaha Standard. Then he was a well-known vault man and laborer at Cemeteries in the area for the past 25 years. 

Leonard thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors - camping, fishing, hunting, demolition derby's, tinkering around, and riding his beloved motorcycle. When he was younger he spent many weekends pheasant hunting with his labs and his buddies. He's never met a stranger and especially while residing in a memory care facility over the past year, he rapidly won the hearts of everyone around. Leonard was a family man and especially loved spending time with his wife, kids and grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Kline, Gaylen Kline, and Roger Kline; sister, Charlene Kline; in-laws, Kermit & Verene Wright.

Leonard is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sue Kline; daughters, Coty (Chad Stubbs) Kline and Kelsey (Roy) Morris; brother, Alan Kline; grandchildren, Frankie Morris and Eli Morris; aunt, Jeana Paden; nieces, nephews, and cousins; granddogs, Norman and Canyon; a host of other family and friends. 

Memorial visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Friday, March 07, 2025. Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Saturday, March 8, 2025. The family will direct memorials.
