Leonard Peter Hoffman

Leonard Peter Hoffman age 83 of Council Bluffs passed away March 20, 2012 at Regency Rehabilitation Center. Leonard was born May 12, 1928 in rural Mills County to Peter and Josephine (Kenkel) Hoffman. He married the love of his life Beverly on November 27, 1952. They farmed in the Crescent and Magnolia areas until they moved to Council Bluffs in 1986. He then began working for Key Real Estate and Heartland Properties and later worked at Wal-Mart as a greeter. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, son Steven, granddaughter Jessica and sister Lavina. He is survived by wife Beverly (Nicola), daughter Kate Hugo and husband Bruce, son David Hoffman, daughters Patricia Vaughn and husband Tim, Janice McDunn and friend Alan Camp, sons Daniel Hoffman and wife Jean, Mark Hoffman and wife Laura, sister Eileen Christensen, 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. A Prayer service will be held at Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home Thursday at 6:00 P.M. with visitation to follow until 8:00 P.M. Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home with Father Chuck Kottas officiating. Burial will be at St Joseph Cemetery in Council Bluffs, Iowa. A Luncheon will follow at the Hoy-Kilnoski Community Room. The family will direct memorials.
