Lindall (Bud) Kieth Hayes, age 82 passed away peacefully with his family by his side, at his home in Council Bluffs on April 18, after a lengthy illness with cancer. Bud was born on November 27, 1932 in Silver City, Iowa to Cecil Hayes and Maree (Bryant) Hayes. Bud graduated from Silver City High School in 1950 and entered the Navy, where he proudly served his country for four years. He settled in southern California where he raised his family. He attended Long Beach State Union and graduated with a degree in electronics. He was Service Manager for General Electric until his retirement. Bud then returned to Council Bluffs to be with his family here and spent many happy years tending to his beautiful flowers, especially his rose garden. Bud loved football, fishing, dog racing, Nascar and sports of any kind. Above all, he loved spending time with his children and several special nieces and nephews, always trying to help them in any way he could. Bud was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law Kenny Howlett. Survivors include his daughter Denna Howlett of Grand Prairie, Texas and Kimberly Overhulse of Fontana, California. His sons Cecil (Marlene) Hayes of Highland, California and Eric Hayes of California. 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Brother Larry (Sharon) Hayes of Council Bluffs and sister Janice Fager of Indianapolis, Indiana. Many other relatives and friends. Graveside services are Saturday April 25, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Silver City, Iowa Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home.
