Lonnie Henry

Lonnie D. Henry, age 87, passed away at Jennie Edmundson Hospital March 5, 2025.

He was born July 31, 1937, to the late Roy and Leona (McDaniel) Henry in Percival, IA. Lonnie graduated from Sidney High School with the class of 1955 and then proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He retired from Lucent Technologies. Lonnie volunteered for many years at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital and was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. He was an avid gardener and loved providing vegetables for his friends and neighbors, and took good care of the birds.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Maye Henry, Faye Hart, Kaye Allen, Mary Smith, and Connie Henry.

Lonnie is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betsy Henry; daughter, Laura Jo Kraemer; nieces, nephews, and cousins and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Salem United Methodist Church on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM at Salem United Methodist Church on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. Interment is in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Lewis Township Fire Department or Salem United Methodist Church.
