Loretta I. Reed-Poffenbarger

Loretta I. Reed-Poffenbarger, age 50 of Council Bluffs passed away June 30, 2016 after a courageous year-long battle with cancer. She was born in Ingersheim, Germany on February 7, 1966. Loretta graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School with the class of 1984. She has been employed at CHI Mercy Hospital since 1983 in the Environmental Services Department and has been the Director of Operations since 1996. Loretta loved flowers, plants and gardening. She also loved traveling, crafts, her pets and family. Loretta will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and gentle nature. She was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Krutzfeldt in 1988. Loretta is survived by her spouse, Jeffrey Poffenbarger; daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Jonathan Neal; grandson, Christopher Neal; mother, Amalie Krutzfeldt; sisters, Jennifer Summa, Jackie Wilson (Troy), Liane Alpen; brother, Gerald Stutz; numerous extended family and friends. Visitation is 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment is in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will direct memorials.
