Loyd E O'Neill

Loyd E. ONeill, age 83, of Neola, Iowa passed away November 13, 2014 at Mercy Hospital. He was born in Council Bluffs on December 15, 1930 to the late Charles E. & Mary L. (Sheahan) ONeill. Loyd was a farmer and had also been a longtime employee at the Omaha Stockyards. He was associated with the American Quarter Horse Association and was actively involved in area rodeos. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sons, Daniel ONeill and Robert ONeill; brothers, Harold ONeill and Donald ONeill; sister, Alice Wakehouse. Loyd is survived by his wife of 64 years, Margaret ONeill; daughters and sons-in-law, Pam & Kevin Ring, Kathy & Richard Mayer Sr., Connie & Roy Mocha; Julie & Gary Nelson; daughter-in-law, Norma ONeill; special friend, Judy Strohmyer; sisters-in-law, Thelma ONeill and Kathryn Feekin; 22 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends. Visitation is Sunday 2-4PM at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is Monday 10AM at the funeral home. Interment is in St. Patricks Catholic Cemetery in Neola. Memorials are suggested to the Neola Fire Department or Lewis Township Fire Department.
