Lucille V. Porter

Lucille V. Porter, age 96, of Council Bluffs passed away August 5, 2016 at CHI Mercy Hospital. She was born in Council Bluffs on April 2, 1920 to the late George and Myrtle (Palmer) Hays. Lucille graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School with the class of 1938 and worked for many years in bookkeeping and as a secretary in farm management at Farmers National. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Porter; infant daughter, Rebecca Porter; grandson, Stan Porter; brothers, Edwin, Clair, Lawrence, Carl and Victor Hays; sisters, Juanita Phillips, Viola McTwiggan, Rita Coffman, Dorothy Danielsen and Wilma Fleming. Lucille is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Ruth Porter, Bill and Jackie Porter, Mike and Laura Porter, Tim and Kay Porter; 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral service is 2:00 p.m. on Monday at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Visitation will be during the hour prior to the service. Interment is in Cedar Lawn Cemetery. The family will direct memorials.
