Lyle Bardsley

Lyle C. Bardsley, age 86, passed away peacefully at Prairie Gate November 13, 2023.

He was born June 6, 1937, to the late Paul and Elsie (Bonnes) Bardsley in Council Bluffs, IA. Lyle graduated from Neola High School with the class of 1955 and retired from the Union Pacific Railroad in 2014 after 57 years of service. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church Central Congregation in Council Bluffs where he served as a deacon.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Shirley Mae Bardsley.

Lyle is survived by his wife Shirley Ann Bardsley; children, Barbara (Allen) Wimmer, Craig (Dawn) Bardsley, Patricia (Don) Schleiger, Kevin (Lou) Illian, and Wendell Illian; siblings, Curtis Bardsley, Dennis (Ginny) Bardsley, and Rita (Richard) Ward; grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Community of Christ Central Congregation in Council Bluffs on Thursday, November 16, 2023.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM at the church on Friday, November 17, 2023. Interment is in the Neola Township Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Community of Christ Church.
