Lynn W. Fehr, age 79, of Council Bluffs, Iowa passed away April 13, 2019.
He was born October 17, 1939 at Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa to the late Max G. and Virginia I. Fehr. He was baptized at Grace Presbyterian Church on May 12, 1940. Lynn graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1958, and earned a Micro Computer Applications Degree from Iowa Western Communtiy College. He served in the United States Air Force from 1958 to 1964 as a Supervised Major in Relay Bank of Teletype and Classified Intelligence Communications, and was discharged as a Lieutenant. He worked for Safeway Foods, Great Plains Aerial Survey (1966-1972), Schemmer Association (1972-1990), and Bel Air Hobby, where he retired in 2005. Lynn taught Sunday School for 50 years at Grace and New Horizon Presbyterian Churches. In addition to the churches, he was involved in the American Legion Post 2, Cobra Flying Club, Nebraska Free Flyers, Council Bluffs Fish and Game Club, A.O.P.A (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association), and A.M.A (Academy of Model Aeronautics). He loved to design and build model airplanes and model trains.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Fehr.
Lynn is survived by his wife Mary Alice Fehr; daughters, Marcia Montgomery (Jeff) and Connie Rich (Bobby); 5 grandchildren and many other family and friends.
Visitation is Wednesday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral Service is Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at New Horizon Presbyterian Church. Interment is in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to New Horizon Presbyterian Church.
