Manuel J. Desantiago

Manuel J. DeSantiago, age 78, of Council Bluffs passed away October 25, 2017 at CHI Mercy Hospital.

He was born in Council Bluffs on December 24, 1938 to the late Bartolo and Leona (Nunez) DeSantiago. Manuel graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and retired from the Union Pacific Railroad.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Florence Wiles and Clem Yochum.

Manuel is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sandra DeSantiago; children, Lisa Hoeft, Stephanie Perez (Tom Stogdill), Sarita Perez (Horacio), Renee Volentine, Steven DeSantiago (Susan), Rachelle Fitzgerald; brothers, Sipriano DeSantiago (Bonnie) and George DeSantiago (Peggy); grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation is 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. on Friday at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is 10:00a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Interment is in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will direct memorials.
