Marceda Jane Steenbock

Marceda Jane Steenbock, age 90, of Council Bluffs formerly of Persia, Iowa passed away June 18, 2017 at Risen Son Christian Village.

She was born in rural Shelby County, Iowa on November 6, 1926 to the late Hans and Emma (Dohrmann) Martens. Jane married Elven Steenbock on February 2, 1947 and together they farmed near Persia, Iowa. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Alvin Martens; sisters, Olga Wolff, Velma Martens, Viola Kapfer, Elsie Martens and Ellen Blumer; great grandson, Alexander Maness; son-in-law, Roger Maness.

Jane is survived by her husband of 70 years, Elven Steenbock; children, Susan and Tom Trede, Tim and Nancy Steenbock, Greg and Lorna Steenbock; sisters-in-law, Vivienne Steenbock, Eunice Groelz and Marie Arentson (Verl); grandchildren, great grandchildren; a host of other family and friends.

Visitation is 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. on Friday at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is 10:00a.m. on Saturday at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Persia, Iowa. Interment is in the Minden, Iowa Cemetery. The family will direct memorials.
