Marcie passed away Friday evening, January 12, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, at age 87. She was born in Jefferson, Iowa, to Robert G. and Mary I. (Canady) LeGore. She lived with her parents on the family farm near Churdan, Iowa, throughout her childhood. She graduated from Churdan High School in 1954, and married her high school sweetheart, Roger A. Hyndman, in September 1954. After briefly living in Chicago, while Roger attended DeVry Technical Institute, they moved back to the farm, where their son, Brad J. Hyndman, was born in 1956. Marcie and Roger had lived in Churdan, Paton and Jefferson, Iowa, where they divorced in early 1974. She married Robert S. Weaton later in 1974 and lived in Cedar Falls and Burlington, Iowa, and finally in Branson, Missouri, where they founded the Frontier Flag Store in 1980 and were active members of the Ozark Mountain Christian Church. She was also an active Boy Scout volunteer for almost 20 years, beginning in 1965. In 2018, she was diagnosed with Vascular Dementia, from which she suffered until her death.
Marcie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and her parents.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Kimberly Hyndman of Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Marcie has been cremated and ashes will be interred at the Highland Township Cemetery in Churdan, Iowa, where a graveside service for family and friends will be held in early spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, or to your local animal shelter.
