Margaret F. O’Neill

Margaret F. (Brookhouser) O’Neill, age 85, passed away August 15, 2017 at CHI Mercy Hospital. She was born in Council Bluffs on October 24, 1931 to the late Leonard and
Gladys (Delehant) Brookhouser.

Margaret attended St. Peter’s Grade School and St. Francis High School. She had worked at both Mercy Hospital and Jennie Edmundson Hospital for many years. She was active in Girl Scouts and 4-H activities. Margaret and her late husband farmed. She was instrumental in the operation.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd O’Neill; sons, Daniel O’Neill and Robert O’Neill; sisters, Marian Thomas and Charlotte Green.
Margaret is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Pam & Kevin Ring, Kathy & Richard Mayer Sr., Connie & Roy Mocha; Julie & Gary Nelson; daughter-in-law, Norma O’Neill; sister Kathryn Feekin; special friend, Judy Strohmyer; 23 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.

Rosary recitation is 5:30p.m. on Friday followed by visitation until 8:00p.m. at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00a.m. on Saturday at St. Peter’s Catholic Church – 1 Bluff Street in Council Bluffs. Interment is in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Neola. Memorials are suggested to St. Peter’s or Lewis Township Fire Department.
