Marilyn J. Fender, 87 years, Council Bluffs, passed away May 3, 2018 at the University of Nebraska Med Center. Marilyn was born on December 19, 1930 in rural Carson, Iowa to the late Alfred and Madge (Tripp) Trede and graduated from Macedonia High School. She was united in marriage to Edwin K. Fender for 65 years before he passed away in 2014. They were blessed with three children, Rick, Gloria and Jeff.
Marilyn enjoyed many years of playing cards with Eddie and their friends. She also enjoyed 50 plus years of Club with the “girls” in Council Bluffs and the club “girls” in Macedonia. One of her greatest loves was family time with her kids, grandkids and great grandkids….to the point she would wear herself out!
Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Madge Trede; husband, Edwin Fender and son, Jeff Fender; sisters, Margie Ann Trede and Bobbie Downey; brother, Lyle Trede.
She is survived by her son, Rick (Peggy) and daughter, Gloria Sivertson all of Council Bluffs; grandchildren, Teri Jo Fender and Tony Fender both of Omaha, Brian (Angie) Sivertson and Keri Anderson of Papillion; 7 great grandchildren; brother, Gayle (Ruthie) Trede of Ralston; brothers in law, Stanley and Jimmie (Sharon) Fender ; sisters in law, Dianna Fender and Mary Lua Trede; many nieces, nephews and life long extended family and friends.
Marilyn knew she was blessed to have so many remarkable loving family members and friends………..if she could, she would tell you, she truly had a “wonderful life.”
Visitation is 6:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. on Thursday at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is 11:00a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Interment is in the Wheeler Grove Cemetery.
