Marjorie Sorensen

December 26, 1945 — April 17, 2024

Marjorie Ann (Thompson) Sorensen, of Council Bluffs, IA and Cincinnati, OH passed away on April 17, 2024. Marjorie, Midge, Grammie, Nana, Margie was a woman with many names but one common theme. She loved those that were close to her and was a fierce defender of her loved ones. She was the wife of one, mother of two, and grandmother of four amazing people.

Marjorie lived in several states in her childhood and found her soulmate Mike in 1961. They met and fell in love at Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs, Iowa during a sophomore English class. Their love endured through college, war, careers, and decades. They were married for 53 years before Mike passed away in 2020.

Midge held jobs at a phone company and as an office administrator at a plant before becoming a licensed realtor in 1992 in Cincinnati Ohio. Midge loved showing homes and connecting people with their friends and neighbors.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband Michael, her parents Isla and Joseph Thompson, and brother Randy Thompson.

She is survived by her daughters Steffanie Sorensen (Galen Coburn) and Jill (Steven) Beil. She was a cherished grandmother to Caitlin Ronk, Jorie, Gavin, and Annika Beil. She leaves behind her siblings Gary Thompson, David Volnec, as well as step siblings Christy Montgomery Carlson and Steve Carlson

Celebration of Life arrangements will be made for this summer in Cincinnati, Ohio. Donations in Marjorie's name may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
