Mary Alice Mericle

Mary A. Mericle, age 78, of Council Bluffs passed away May 4, 2017 at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

She was born in Moulton, Iowa on June 6, 1938 to the late Willie and Eva Marie (Rouse) Daugherty. Mary worked at the Western Heritage Trails Center for many years and then at Hancock Fabrics. She was a member of Midwestern Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph H. Mericle; daughters, Donna Mericle and Sheryl Jorgensen; son, Bruce Mericle; sister, Thelma Shelton; brothers, Guy, William and John Daugherty; granddaughter, Heather Jorgensen.

Mary is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Debbie Mericle; sisters, Eva Kriegermeier and Juanita Traxler; grandchildren, Jeffrey Mericle (Amber), Jennifer Mericle, Jordan Heywood (Nathan), Jacob Mericle, Joel Mericle and Colton Jorgensen; 12 great grandchildren.

Visitation is 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. on Tuesday at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is 11:30a.m. on Wednesday at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Interment is in the Glenwood Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Midwestern Baptist Church in Omaha.
