Mary E. “Betty” Kerber, age 93, passed away at her home on November 16, 2017.
She was born in Council Bluffs on December 20, 1923 to the late Donald and Mary (Grey) Adams. Betty graduated from Oakland High School with the class of 1941. She was a past member of the order of the Rainbow for Girls and the Grand Cross of the Colors. She was also a member of Camp Fire Girls. Betty worked at the Oakland Farm Bureau Office before moving to Council Bluffs. In Council Bluffs she worked at Con Drug and Sears. She then spent her life as a farm wife and raising her family.
Betty was a member of New Horizon Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the former Hardin Presbyterian Church. She was a Sunday School Teacher and past president of Ladies Aid. Betty was the past president of the Band Boosters Club of Underwood High School and a member of Farm Bureau. She had been active in the 9 to 1 Dance club and an avid Gardner. She was most fond of spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle Duane Kerber; great uncle and auntie Knapp; sister-in-law, Marjorie Kerber; brothers-in-law, Bud Hiller and Frank Roennau.
Betty is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Charles Reuland and Katherine and Howard Harriott; sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and JoLinda Kerber and Chuck and Barbara Kerber; 9 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Norma Roennau; a host of other family and friends.
Visitation is 3:00p.m. to 5:00p.m. on Sunday at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is 10:00a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Interment is in Ridgewood Cemetery. The family will direct memorials.
