Mary R Schomer

Mary R. Schomer, age 60, of Carter Lake, Iowa passed away January 11, 2017 at the Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha.

She was born in Omaha, Nebraska on August 3, 1956 to Emil L. and Bette Mae (Melia) Hausner. Mary graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School with the class of 1974. She was very involved in the Carter Lake Library and was a member of the Carter Lake City Council.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

Mary is survived by her husband, Paul Schomer; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Daniel Smith; son, Anthony Schomer (Erin Kempf); father, Emil Hausner; siblings, Deborah Jones (Jeffrey), Edward Hausner (Melanie), Rebecca Kuhl (Bud), Michael Hausner (Tina), John Hausner (Shannon); granddaughter, Harper Melia Smith; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family and friends.

Rosary recitation is 2:00p.m. on Sunday followed by visitation until 5:00p.m. at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00a.m. on Tuesday at Corpus Christi – Our Lady Queen of Apostles Catholic Church – 3304 4th Avenue in Council Bluffs. Interment is in Resurrection Cemetery in Omaha. The family will direct memorials in Mary’s honor.
