Maxine Laura Rodenburg was born on September 21, 1917 to Edwin and Mabel (Benton) Wolfe at Malvern, IA. She passed away September 12, 2012 at her home in Council Bluffs. She graduated from Tabor High School in 1935 and attended Boyles Business College in Council Bluffs. She was a secretary at Buchanan-Thomas Advertising Co. for three years. She was united in marriage to Earl Rodenburg in 1942 and they farmed near Neola until his death in 1995. Maxine continued to live on the farm until 2005 when she moved to Council Bluffs. She was a member of St. John?s Lutheran Church, Honey Creek, Iowa. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Clifford Wolfe and Paul Wolfe; sisters, Gayle Van Horne and Doris Reiman; great granddaughter, Holly Kaye Frisbie; son-in-law, Gene George. Maxine is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Patty Rodenburg of Missouri Valley, Iowa; daughters, Carole George and Nancy Rodenburg both of Council Bluffs; five grandchildren, Vicki (Fred) Roane, Trina (Jay) Frisbie, Valerie (Chris) Wham, Scott (Sonjia) Rodenburg and Aaron (Libby) George; 12 great-grandchildren, Raistlin Rodenburg, Emily Roane, Haylee Frisbie, Abby George, Hannah Frisbie, Erica Roane, Alex Rodenburg, Hunter Frisbie, Jackson Roane, Lindsay Wham, Evan Wham and Sarah Rodenburg; step great-granddaughter, Gina Lea. Visitation is Friday 6-8PM at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is Saturday 11AM at St. John?s Lutheran Church, Honey Creek, Iowa with Pastor, David R. Kuhnle officiating. Burial will follow in the Grange Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. John?s Lutheran Church Honey Creek.
