Merlyn Major

Merlyn W. Major, age 72, passed away peacefully at Jennie Edmundson Hospital on October 12, 2023.

He was born June 27, 1951, to the late Anthony and Ruth (Engebretson) Major in Sioux City, IA. Merlyn graduated from Underwood High School.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Donald Major; sister, Toni Fehr.

Merlyn is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carolyn Major; children, Dana (John) Wilson and Shane (Brandie) Major; grandchildren, Chloey (Kurt) Ritzman, Alicia (Victoria) Jones, Hannah (Adam) Ireland, Katie (Ryan Hickey) Wilson, Breydon Major, and Shayden Major; great grandchild, Ryker Ireland; twin brother, Garlyn (Jackie) Major; nieces and nephews.

Private family services will be held. The family will direct memorials.
