Mervin "Noonie" Baxter

Mervin "Noonie" L. Baxter, age 83, passed away March 10, 2024. He was born August 4, 1940 to Harlan and Mildred (Weldon). Noonie graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1960. He was a long time teamster with Peter Kiewit.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gay Lee Baxter; sister-in-law, Jan Baxter; and brother-in-law, John Kannedy.

Mervin is survived by his 2 sons, Scot (Dani) Baxter of McClelland, IA, and Todd (Brandy) Baxter of Perry, MI; brother and sister, Jerry Baxter, and Judy Kannedy, both of Council Bluffs, IA; grandchildren, Zach (Emily) Baxter, Andrew Baxter, Madison Baxter, Alyssa Baxter, Caitlynn Baxter, Daelynn Baxter and Bryce Baxter; great-grandchildren, Bronson Baxter and Landry Baxter.

Per Noonie's request, no public services will be held. Final resting place in Calhoun Cemetery. The family will direct memorials.
