Michael J. “Mick” Wellman

Michael J. “Mick” Wellman, age 77, of Neola, Iowa passed away May 9, 2018.

He was born in Council Bluffs on August 5, 1940 to the late Walter and Inez (Stoker) Wellman. Mick graduated from St. Joseph High School with the class of 1958. He was the second generation operator of Wellman construction and was deeply involved in the Neola Community.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Dale Wellman; sister, Jane Wellman; brother, Jerry Wellman.

Mick is survived by his wife of 53 years, Arlyn Wellman; daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Carl Jacobson; sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Rachel Wellman, Aaron and Wendy Wellman; sisters, Sue and Rick Gaudian, Nancy Johnsen; grandchildren, Jerica Doty, Mya Doty, Michael Jacobson and Rebecca Jacobson; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation is 3:00p.m. to 6:00p.m. on Sunday at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is 10:00a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Interment is in the St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Neola, Iowa. Memorials are suggested to Neola Fire and Rescue.
