Michael Lee Watson

Michael L. Mike Watson went to be with his Lord and Savior surrounded by his loving family at his home on August 5, 2016. Mike was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa on December 24, 1946 to the late Elmer and Ruth (Wright) Watson. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1965, then served in the Army from 1966 to 1969. Mike married Mary (Bolte) Watson in May of 1971, celebrating their 45th anniversary this year. He retired in 2004 from Steamfitters Local 464. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Sylvia (Bunny) Watson. Mike is survived by his wife, Mary; daughters, Jennifer (Jason) Gates, Julie Watson; son, Tim Watson; three grandchildren, Hannah, Aubrey, and Tyler Gates; siblings, Marjorie (Clyde) Miller, Jack Lewis, Jerry (Geri) Watson, Jeanie Petersen, Lynn (Linda) Watson, Bob (Verna) Watson; many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Fairview Pioneer Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family or First Christian Church.
