Norma Lillian Fischer, age 93, of Council Bluffs, passed away on February 18, 2018.
She was born on November 22, 1924 to the late James and Lila (Peterson) Benson.
Norma graduated from Underwood High School. She worked as a secretary at Lewis Central High School for many years and was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. Norma was known for her wonderful cooking and baking skills and her green thumb. She was dedicated to her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and to the family farm. All were her pride and joy.
In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Julius Fischer; son, Stephen Fischer; granddaughter, Carly Fischer; brother, Duane Benson; sister, Berniece Iverson; infant sister, Oralee.
She is survived by her sons, Jim Fischer and his wife, Becky, Curt Fischer and his wife, Denise; daughter, Phyllis Grafel and her husband, John; grandchildren, Brett Fischer and his wife, Jessie, Nichole Tews and her husband, Ben, Cody Fischer and his fiancée, Samantha, Juston Grafel, Jackson Grafel and his wife, Kortnie; great grandchildren, Logan, Liv, and Dane Fischer, Anna and Isaac Tews, Jaylin, Adalie, and Zachary Grafel, Hayden and John Grafel.
Memorial service will be Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. with a visitation with the family the hour prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to Saint John Lutheran Church or Risen Son Christian Village.
