Pamela Rief

Pamela "Pam" Rief, age 82, passed away on February 2, 2025. She was born on July 9, 1942, to Duane and Lela Gallup in Omaha, Nebraska. Pam and her husband, Darrell, recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with a family celebration on January 11, 2025.

Darrell and Pam raised their family on a farm in rural Missouri Valley, Iowa. Pam cherished her life as a farmer's wife and a domestic engineer.

Pam's greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved cooking and baking and sharing her culinary creations with family. Pam's most requested dish was a family favorite - her famous potato salad. During harvest, she served many tasty meals to the crew. No one left her house hungry!

In addition to cooking and baking, she enjoyed reading, doing crossword and jumbo puzzles, gardening and watching old movies.

Pam had a kind heart for all and a tender spot for animals.

In addition to her parents, Pam, was preceded in death by her sister, Renee Garber, and brothers-in-law, Ronald Rief and Darwin Rief, and sister-in-law, Cathy Gallup.

Pam is survived by her husband, Darrell, and children, Sandy (Larry) Willmott of Blair, Nebraska; Carol (Darrell) Justesen of Missouri Valley, Iowa; and Steve (Sarah) Rief of Missouri Valley, Iowa; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one great, great granddaughter.

Also surviving Pam are her brother, Kreg Gallup, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard (Dick) and Joan Gilman, and sister-in-law, Diane Rief, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 5, 2025. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Thursday, February 6, 2025. Interment will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery. The family will direct memorials.
