Patrick Clair Miner ? age 56, passed away March 21, 2013 at Oakland Manor Care Center in Oakland, Iowa, following a courageous battle with Dementia and related complications. Pat was recently baptized into the Christian faith and received his final blessing which put him at peace. In his early youth Pat was a Cub Scout, played city recreation baseball and attended Longfellow School in Council Bluffs. He completed high school through GED then enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy from 1981-84. He was awarded an Honorable Discharge following tours of Philippines, Japan and the far East. He then completed 6 more years in the Navy Reserves. He worked most of his adult life in construction and building and grounds maintenance, receiving awards for his flower beds while grounds keeping at large apartment complexes in Omaha. Pat enjoyed life to the fullest and while he was able, he could always be counted on to provide a safe haven in his home for those in temporary need. Pat is survived by his mother, Barbara Jan Rollins; sister, Robin Gilmore of Co. Bluffs and Peggy Bojanowicz of Flagler Beach, FL.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Pat has been cremated. An informal visitation and video celebration of Pat?s life will be at Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home from 6 ? 8PM on Monday, March 25, 2013. Memorials will be directed to his mother.
