Phillip E. Kephart

Phillip E. Kephart, age 70, of Council Bluffs passed away February 21, 2014. He was born in Council Bluffs on June 27, 1942 to the late Glen & Dorothy Kephart. Phil graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Phil was a musician and the owner and operator of several taverns in Council Bluffs. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bob, Glen Jr., Kenny and Richard; sister, Lois. Phillip is survived by Kathy McMurray; sons, Michael McMurray (Justi) and Dale McMurray (Angie); brothers, Steve Kephart (Sandy) and Bill Kephart (Raylene); 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. A celebration of his life will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. The celebration will continue at the Eagles Club following the funeral home. The family will direct memorials.
